It's hunting season!

Well, it has been for a while now, I'm just not updating this thing. I'm keeping myself busy with studies, dogs, horses, family and the like. I'm feeling happy and content, thanks for asking. :)

Anyway, if you know me, which you probably do if you're reading this, you probably know that I'm not all that into the hunting thing. But it does provide some good opportunities for my little one, he's especially happy about all the yummy bones his "grandpa" brings him.

For me the good thing is that I got a good opportunity to train Nitis not to be scared of gunshots. Dad needed to practice before the hunt (not because he's bad, they all do - or should - do to make sure then rifle works properly etc) so I made him a nice practice board and took Nitis to the woods. He did great - the dog that is - didn't care about the sound at all, he's the best.

If you don't like morbid pictures you should skip the next few ones, there are nicer ones furter down. This is my uncle pouring water into a bucket:

Interesting, eh? The bucket contains:

Yup, two frozen deer heads.

I guess atleast he didn't die hungry...

What they'll look like soon:

Here some more peaceful pictures from my home:

Random hunting dog came by for a visit, Nitis was sad to see him go.

How we spend our days.

Well, that's it for this time, stay tuned for more exciting (!) news from the North.

(If you want to see some videos of my little boy you can do so here http://tjugovita.blogspot.com/2008/09/en-massa-videor.html and here http://tjugovita.blogspot.com/2008/09/nitis-lyssnar-p-grieg.html , I'm too lazy to post them in more than one blog.)

Trees, birds, dad and the dog

Last week we went to check on the baby trees we planted in the beginning of summer. The good rows looked like this:

But unfortunately quite a few also looked like this:

That means less trees for my dad's grandchildren to cut down in 70 years.

Autumn crane gathering before heading south:

Bargainbingo

There are many great ways of entertainment in the wild North unknown to the rest of the world; car bingo, walking bingo, cow bingo, radio bingo, bingolotto, searching for moose antlers in the woods... And then we have auctions!

If it's summer and someone died there will be an auction. A bunch of shabby-looking, mainly middle aged to near-death, drive through half the province bringing their foldable chairs and backpacks full of coffee and thin Swedish bread to sit in front of a house full of the life collection of worthless crap of some poor fellow that has just passed away and listen to some local well known person trying to be witty while calling out item after item for hours and hours. As you can tell it's a whole lot of fun! :) It's one of my mom's big interests so me and Nitis decided to hop in the car and tag along.

Nitis behaved perfectly, playing with other dogs as well as children and just taking it easy watching the people and the things. I returned home without opening my wallet while my mom got a great deal on some old dolls, a cake tray and a bunch of cables. :)

This week...

... we kill the football!!

I have been getting complaints for not updating lately. Well, there's not much else in my life right now than this cute white furry little thing so you're going to have to put up with lots of pictures of him. I'm at my dad's house in the Swedish wilderness again since two weeks and will be here for quite a while. I gave up on Germany after some 5-6 years and returned to the place I never thought I could live again. My wonderful former boyfriend drove me and as much stuff as can fit into a blue car with four wheels to Denmark where I met up with my dad, packed his blue car full of my stuff and headed North. On the 1000+ km drive we stopped and picked up the cute white fluffy fury creature that I don't know how I could have ever been without.

Taking mom's dog for a walk.

My uncle gave Nitis a baby moose antler with the hope he'll turn into a moose hunting dog. Not in my life time. :)

Down by the river...

How adorable can one wet-bellied little creature be?!
